As ornery as I am (not me, right), it is pretty rewarding to go into US Tractor & Harvest, a/k/a John Deere on Hwy 285 S. and ask Scott Van Horn if he could possibly disc up this area I am wanting to work on. I might run into Scott once a year at the 4H Fair, when he is buying 4H animals. He has never NOT helped me with projects. He didn’t hesitate even for a second before saying “just let us know when you need it done, Ruthie”! I am so grateful for the relationships I have created over the years.
I wanted to thank your guys for incredible service Thursday, 6-12. At about 2:15 pm, after topdressing a field, we discovered the axel bracket came loose, and the snap ring holding the wheels on for the top-dresser. In essence, the axel and wheels could have come off at any moment. Of course, we had a lot more to do today and this weekend (125 tons). This is our only top-dresser of course. I called Kyle, and he had someone here to pick it up by about 2:40. I expressed this project was very important to get done this weekend. The guys in the back were able to fix it, and Jeff called me a little before 5 pm, said it was done, and the unit was back in our yard before 5:30 pm. We were back to top-dressing by 6:30 this morning. Now only 90 more tons to go. The service US Tractor has provided us over the years has always been extraordinary. You always prompt service allows us to stay up and running. When a repair is non-critical, service is always prompt. When is critical (snow or a time like this), it is unbelievably great. Please pass along to the owners my appreciation, and to all the guys out back. Thanks Doug
